We didn't know that payment through the link in the text sent by Yellow Cab for this ride didn't go through. Without following up with us Red Top / Yellow Cab banned us from future pickups. No call or text asking to clear up problem, just denial of service when we called for a subsequent ride. Waiting for Red Top management to call us back. Until then we're using alternatives. The ride itself was great. We left the driver a generous tip in the payment that didn't go through. Would like to get this cleared up.

We rarely use taxi services but due to a weekly commitment and a car in the repair shop, we decided to splurge! OMG! The driver was on time, knowledgeable about handling a rollerator, had space to store it, and got us home in half the time in rush hour traffic. While it was a little pricey , it was worth the peace of mind.

Once we got to the airport with a $75.00 fare and I pulled out my credit card the driver kept insisting on “cash only” and argued that we couldn’t use a credit card. That’s the first time I’ve ever had that happen. If your taxi company has suddenly switched to a cash only basis you need to advise all potential customers IN ADVANCE!!

I love Red Top taxi company. I have been using their services for over 20 years. This ride had issues with the pay tablet which caused a slight delay in my getting out of the taxi. The driver handled the whole affair as best he could.

I was overcharged. The day before, I booked online to be picked up for a ride to DCA at 11:00 a.m. I got an estimate for the fare between $16-$18. The day of I received a text asking if I wanted to prepay the fare by credit card. I clicked on the link, was shown a fare of $17.20 and I added a 25% tip, bringing the fare to $21.50. I was waiting early at 10:45 because I received a text that my driver was 5 minutes away (he wasn't). I put my suitcase on the sidewalk and waited. At 11:01 the cab turned around in the driveway and pulled up to the curb. "Moses" took my suitcase and put it in the trunk. I got in and we drove away at 11:02 according to the dashboard clock.
When I got to the airport I was told the fare, with 25% tip, was $28.25. I went inside and called the company to complain and was told I would get a refund for the $6.75 difference, but later he called me back and said the fare was $18.80 (above the $16-$18 estimate) and read a bunch of extra charges that shouldn't have pertained to me. For example, a $2.80 wait fee, even though I was the one who was waiting. (That equates to him waiting 7 minutes for me, which is totally false.)
Other than their shady charges on my card, the ride was fine (and only 1 minute later than I requested.)

The cab arrived at the house early. The driver had a great, sweet personality. His car was extremely clean and comfortable. I enjoyed the ride.
