Everything was great about our experience with Red Panda. Gemma was super accommodating and very good with communication. No hesitation about recommending this business for a local car rental in Chamonix. The car was not large, but still fit four adults for a day trip to ski at Megeve, and was comfortable for two adults plus skis and luggage for a trip to Verbier. Our ski rack fit 4 pairs of skis, but it's worth checking if this is an important part of your rental because it looked like some of their racks fit fewer skis.

Excellent communication, great customer service, and a good car at a competitive price. I spent 4 weeks in Chamonix and rented a car from Gemma for the whole time. She was excellent to work with, accommodating, and pleasant. Next time I am in Cham and I need a car I will definitely use Red Panda.

We had a great experience with Red Panda: the car was in excellent condition, fully equipped for winter with a ski rack, snow socks and snow tires. There were no hidden fees, no irrational cross-border fees, no pushing of overpriced insurance like other rentals. The handover and the delivery were very straightforward, no fuss. I've cancelled another booking with a big brand rental company to use Red Panda and will definitely do it again when coming to Chamonix.

Appalling customer service and an absolute rip off!! Gemma responded to my mail enquiry with a special rate of €120 for a one day suzuki car rental. I agreed and arranged a 10am collection. My train went straight past the stop nearby the rental office, so I text her to let her know I'd be late and if she could help me call a taxi. No response, then I called her 40 mins later and was rudely informed that pick ups were by appointment only (she didn't mention this at booking) and I had to go through a lengthy process to retrieve the car keys via a lock box. I had no option to look over or sign a contract- there was a contract on the seat that had my first name only on it and nowhere for me to sign.
I was just informed that I'm being charged €21+ euro extra because I went over their daily 150km allowance!! This was never mentioned to me.
The response to my email regarding this extra charge was condescending and downright rude.
I would never recommend this place to anyone!!

We'd a great experience with Red Panda. The price was reasonable, and I loved their 'no-fuss' approach - a breath of fresh air compared to the big rental companies. Location was easy to get to using Chamonix's public transport, the car was really well specced and suitably equipped for winter usage, and the ski rack was able to accommodate up to three boards and two pairs of skis. The car we hired was small but mighty - able to comfortably accommodate four big guys and all our ski/snow gear. We'd a wee mishap at the end of our rental (our fault), and Gemma was super chill and helpful in sorting it out. Highly recommend if you're visiting Chamonix - having a car makes a huge difference to the holiday!
