Agence de retour prévue dans notre contrat de location.
Et surprise: Agence FERMÉE pour tout l'été . Parking inaccessible (code inconnu). Aéroport fermé également.
Service client téléphonique difficile à joindre avec appel SURTAXÉ.
Seule solution proposée: Dépôt voiture dans une autre agence à 40km !!!
Une perte de temps de plus de 3h.
Une semaine après signalement de fermeture de l'agence durant l'ete à Avis, cette agence est toujours proposée sur leur site ...

Dreadful experience with Avis Grenoble and the UK Avis team. Snow chains were added to my booking when I picked up the car even though I deliberately didn't add them to my booking. I was informed there would be no charge if I returned the snow chains unused. The car was returned with unused snow chains however I was still charged roughly €100.
I was informed by Avis UK it wasn't normal to have an item and only pay if it was used - they basically said I lied. I sent them a link to their own website which explained the France mountain rules which support what I had been told when picking up the car. They said when I signed the rental agreement I agreed to the additional charge... complete nonsense!
I was either lied to when picking up the car or Avis are incompetent! Extremely unhappy with the situation.

Efficient service despite very busy with all the flights arriving and departing on Saturday.
On return of the car received return invoice by email 1 hour after return. Had been charged an extra €60 for a full tank of fuel. However I returned the tank full. As we were still waiting to pass security in the airport I went back to the desk and this was promptly corrected and said it was a mistake. However they had the power to charge my card that €60 and think they should have been more careful (or perhaps this is a systematic 'error' to increase their revenue?)

We booked an estate car but were only given a tiny hatchback, there simply wasn't enough room in it for 4 people and luggage + skis.

On top of that they charged my friends credit card with 500 Euros for damage with no explanation as to why and didn't respond to any emails or calls.

He finally got his money back after weeks of chasing and having to prove the damage was already on the car with photos.

They're clearly chancers hoping to just take the money and hope you don't challenge it, absolute con artists.

I would give this place -5 star if I could. Just to be clear this is not against any individual employee I was treated well by the staff at the desk. Booked the car online for £375 for 6 days, but got a quite a shock when my card got charged £1236!!! Spent the following couple of weeks trying to contact customer support. Had to deal with slow replies and broken English. The latest information suggested I was charged for an upgrade. All I remembered from that day was I asked if I could get a car with winter tyres. It was not explained to me as an upgrade nor was I informed of the extra charge which turned out to be extra 200% of the booked price!!! This doesn’t seem to be an isolated incident. Take a look at the Google reviews for “Budget Car Rental” at the same place (they are essentially the same company). I am still fighting the case as I feel my consumer rights have been violated here. Please be aware if you are thinking about renting from them!

Rented 2 cars, on return when we went to airport they sent us an email stating a charge for new damage (chip on windscreen) which was already there when picked up!!! Also charged a credit card same time!!! Unbelievable, no response to emails or calls to discuss. Discusting !

Impossible to work with. Website is completely unclear of whether the agency in Grenoble Airport still exists and/or is opened during specific months. Tried to call them, first message you hear is them explaining how much the phonecall is going to cost per minute, then you get transfered to an automatic menu where you have to answer by voice to get through. They say several times you need to do the next step in order to speak to someone. In the end you hear something like: to make a reservation, go to our website. Then the connection is broken a second later. Absolute nightmare stuff.

Pros - Friendly and efficient staff.

Car was Dacia Sandero whilst spacious and drove nicely, for long journeys the seats are very uncomfortable.

Cons - Screen wash did not work which was annoying. At the desk - the charge for snow chains extortionately high
