My kids have missed 3 of 5 appointments ranging from new patient appointments to newborn visits and surgical procedures because these people can’t get their shit together. It’s absolutely infuriating to have rides booked WEEKS ahead of time, after jumping through hoops because your doctors office is “too far”away, only for drivers to show up with empty gas tanks or cancellations with no notice. My personal favorite though? Bouncing between several agencies, showing an *active* status for the appointment, nobody showing up and the status REMAINING active. What the what. My babies are going to get booted from the pediatricians office- we don’t have a lot of local options if this happens!

I haven’t been cleared to drive yet after health issues myself which is the *only* reason we attempt to utilize this shitty service. If Uber or Lyft was more reliable in the middle of nowhere, I’d rather spend a fortune and actually reach my destination. Hell, WALKING that 8 miles into town is more reliable at this point.

I do NOT recommend. It’s not worth the headache or hassle.

MAS courteous & efficient. Very efficient medical cabs but sometimes overwhelmed with so much in one day. Oneida, NY had two businesses go out. Ride shortage.

My poor mother has awful luck with them. They are either late or they don’t show up at all! Her primary care physician charges her a fee because they don’t show! And they are probably still charging Medicaid. I would suggest that Medicaid to an audit on these scam artists.

everytime i call and get to a person the system hangs up. Made trips on their online system, it has wiped my account two times and keeps telling me to call. There own people tell me their service is broken, i now have to make all my trips through the email service with a person higher up in the chain.
Im paying for three trips to be reimbursed. Um excuse me i can totally sue you for your failure to do what the federal government says your supposed to do.

I feel that medical transportation needs to hold each company accountable when customers don’t receive the transportation requested. I had transportation set up for 10:30 because I had a 11 appointment literally 10 minutes from my house 2 different companies kicked my request due to lack of drivers and I wasn’t notified until 10:45. The 3rd company they tried to send also didn’t have availability! MAS blamed me for arranging my ride to pick me up 30 minutes prior rather than a hour! To me I should have been contacted when the first company couldn’t accommodate me! I understand they service a lot of customers but I book my transportation at least 2 weeks prior to any appointment! There should not be an issue with providing me transportation!

The system needs to be reevaluated

Update- I’m so losing my patience with medical transportation yet again my service providers kick my transportation appointments back due to lack of staff and I don’t get notified! There really should be an app where you can be notified and schedule your appointments. Something needs to change with the system for those people who don’t have their own car. I schedule my rides at least a week in advance if not more like they request so why can’t I be notified in a timely fashion the provider I chose won’t be arriving to transport me.

Explaining the time for the next day inappropriate and having the M.A.S. lowest of low disposition the fact that the M.A.S. and Healthfirst FAIL to inform with a timely fashion of changes to and

I have had many awful experiences with MAS. Nothing personal, but they want for my mental health a review because I have two-three trips a week and they'll only let you book 1. They may have the mindset that if it's made difficult, you will get care online and not go or better yet don't go to your appointment and receive no care at all. Too many people here are giving up on their heath because of all the hoops you have to go through to get what should be provided up front. I have been trying for two weeks to Get them to do this review They say a supervisor will call 2 business days I call again no call, wait a couple days, starting to give up (as many already have), then I get hopeful they'll help me, I call again and wait on line for a long time, then they answer and say they are going to call. 4 days later my provider still hasn't gotten that call. This is what I mean, I've had this history with MAS with them ignoring basic requests of mine for forms, reviews, complaints about unsafe drivers, ect. They aren't very good at answering my questions, only good at ASKING questions. This company just took over Long Island and is the cheapest contractor the state could get in the bids (the government always goes with cheapest bid, the government is short term minded, obsessed over saving dollars and even cents per mile over care quality to the detriment of 7 million Medicaid members in New York State. So clap your hands and do stress relief coping skills because it'll only be getting worse for everyone (especially our most vulnerable). It is a PITY that New York State chose this corporation for this heavily needed service, and I sincerely hope they reconsider the next state contract bid and don't renew MAS. I know there's more chance of freezing ?️ in hell than that happening though. (Google won't let me give zero stars).
