Just had one of the worst experiences with them and their driver who was exiting Chapel Hill. He was going so slow on the highway at 45 and got mad I flicked my lights at him to get off the exit so we wouldn't get hit. Got mad and speed up on top of me to start making racist remarks like monkey gestures and other foul remarks to me as an African American man and him being a white man. Called the business and they have known as a black owned business he has done it in the past and still works for them. Shame on you guys for not doing anything and protecting your business. I wouldn't trust this taxi services or driver with my life around Chapel Hill if they are willing to put your life in danger driving or willing to make racist remarks in this day in age with no repercussions.

This is by far the most inconvenient transportation service ever. They do not call if they can not make it they’ll tell you some one is coming at a certain time and they’ll never show up or won’t be on time. The drivers drive so reckless and careless. If you can avoid using this transportation DO NOT USE it. This was My FIRST and LAST time using this transportation I DO NOT RECOMMEND.

I moved here in 2006 from Pennsylvania, didn't drive and have used Tar Heel Taxi ever since. When I was working at UNC, I would walk to grocery store and then call Tar Heel. Never water longer than 15 mts and drivers were always very courteous and cab was clean and in good shape.

Stay away! Needed to get to the airport so asked for 6:45AM pickup. Showed up at 6:55. Speeding the entire time. Car was in horrible shape. Truly was worried about making it without crashing. Never again.

Driver didn’t check his lights before driving and he’s back left blinker was out l. He slid into the tiniest spot between me and the car in front of me. Then slowed down to 15mph flipping me off while I’m in a dump truck so I easily could have run into him. I wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone.

My cab picked me up for a Doctor appointment with my two small children, they knew I had children and they knew I had to be somewhere at a certain time, so the driver proceeds to pick up other customers! If I wanted to ride with strangers and go all over town to THEIR destinations I would have taken the bus!! I PAY for convenience, safety, and customer service...ESPECIALLY when I’m with my children. I had to call my doctors office to let them know I’d be late. Do yourself a favor and Call Townie Transportation.

I was in town from NY for the weekend and used Tar Heel the entire time. Ubers were nowhere to be found but I called to schedule a few hours before hand and just asked for pickup 15 minutes before the time I actually wanted to get picked up and they were always there!! Definitely recommend as long as you plan ahead a bit
